  Finally retiring for night. Haven’t heard from kids for an hour. 12.45. And hope they have a lie in.  

• Tuesday evening

  Tea all done. Everyone full of pasta and pud. 
  Evening of dance around the bonfire. Teachers feeling old as we have never heard of these songs. Bring back Motown from the year six camp. 
  Children a lot more tiered as they have had a long day. Hopefully not a 5am start tomorrow again.

  It hasn’t rained!!!

  A good morning of activities. Wood splitting and fire starting, mushroom hunting and nature bracelet making. 
  children making own lunch then afternoon walk around the chase. 

  

• Year day 2 first morning

  Early start with boys tent awake at 5am. Everyone up by 7.00.  
  Now eating breakfast before a full day’s activities. 
  cereals, porridge and bagels this morning. 

  

• Finally settled

  Took a bit for children to settle tonight. Maybe because of wet weather.   Finally down and no noise at 11.

  Sausage mash peas and gravy for tonight. Plus pud of course.

  

• Drying out after wet walk to collect sticks

  As usual, a wet start to camp. Children are not bothered at all.  Drying out waterproofs and chilling before tea. 
  children did a great job putting up the tents.   Should impress the Cannock chase district scout leader. when he comes to inspect the camp later in the week.
