Welcome to the Year 2 class page 2026-27.

We regularly update and communicate with parents on Class Dojo, so please ensure that you are logged in and able to view updates to both the School Story and our class story too.

Timetable
Here is our standard timetable. This will be updated if any significant changes happen - any temporary changes will be notified to adults via Class Dojo.
Useful Info
Tuesdays - are our PE day, so children should wear their full, smart PE kit.
Wednesdays - are the day when homework is sent home to be completed.
Thursdays - Homework must be returned. Thursdays are also our swimming sessions, so children should bring their swimming kit.

Year 2 Reading
At Millfield we believe that reading is the single greatest joy that you can have and so texts feature heavily in everything that we do.
Children are encouraged to read every night and change their books every day. We endeavour to read with children as often as we can, whether this is hearing a child read, shared class reading, books used in literacy, the class story at the end of every day or even a trip down to our library.
At Millfield, we don't teach children how to read, we create readers.
