November 2019

Week beginning 11th November 2019

This week children have took part in a Remembrance assembly and have had time to reflect on why we have Remembrance day. Thank you too all parents who attended the parent workshop and assisted with painting a remembrance stone.

We have also developed our netball skills in P.E, some of the choir sang at Knaves Court and boys and girls played fantastically during their football matches. We have looked at short division this week during Maths, we have wrote our own innovative stories in Literacy based on The Demon Headmaster. Children also took part in 'odd socks day' for Anti-Bullying Week. Again, thank you for all your kind donations over the past couple of weeks, that will be put towards the Christmas Fayre.

Week beginning 4th November 2019

It has been lovely to see all children back after the half term holidays. This week we have looked at column multiplication and some children have used leaves, twigs and other natural objects to assist in solving problems. We investigated with soil during Science and discussed what soil is made up of (not to mention the worms we found!) Miss Stringer also transformed into a robot during Computing and children instructed her, using algorithms, to make a nutella sandwich. Needless to say, things got messy!

Also, thank you for all the sweets that were donated to school for the Christmas Fayre. Next Friday will be another non-school uniform day and children have been asked to donate a bottle for the Christmas Fayre.
