Narrowboat

27th June, 2016.

Dear Parents,

Narrowboat

I am very pleased to tell you that our narrowboat has finally arrived. (We have been trying to achieve this for the past 6 years!)  It is almost completed and now needs a wooden floor laying before we can use it with the children. – Any carpenters out there please get in touch!  This is an amazing resource.  We are not aware of any other school that has their own narrowboat!

We will be able to use it as a floating classroom for some lessons and intend to equip it as a camping boat so we can take the children on camping trips as well as taking them for short journeys on the canal.

On Friday 1st July at 1.30 in the afternoon we will be holding an open afternoon to celebrate the arrival of the boat.  People who have helped us in obtaining the boat will be invited to join us.  The event will be attended by our MP Wendy Morton and the press will also be there.  There will be activities on the field and the canal and some classes will be involved in maypole dancing.

Parents are invited to attend and there will be refreshments provided by the PTA.  If you are attending and would like to accompany your child as they do activities, we will require you to sign the register as you collect your child from the class teacher.  This is to ensure that children who do not have parents attending will be supervised by their teachers.  It also means that parents will be free to take their children home when they wish.
