Krathongs on the pond

Still image for this video
This afternoon Year 3 and 4 absolutely loved learning about the Buddhist festival Loy Krathong. The children made their own floating raft/basket (Krathong) which held a tea light.

Making rocks 21/11/23

Year 4 had a fab afternoon looking at sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks. We used starbursts to create layers for sedimentary rock then used the heat from our hands and force to change the rock into metamorphic. After, we put the rock into the microwave to create igneous rock. We had a blast!

Land use 15/11/23

The children have been looking at different ways land is used. We used this knowledge to go out into our local environment with an aerial view map, to identify land use around Millfield.

Year 3 and 4 joined forces to celebrate Diwali. In small groups, children created rangoli patterns using natural resources outdoors. We then went back into class and created firework wands with Miss Hare and used mashed berries to create mehndi designs with Mrs Dudley.
